Take Away Food for Dinner

After finished work at 6pm on Saturday, I decided to buy take away food for dinner. We are lazy to bring our 2 kids out for dinner at hawker centre. Furthermore, the food that we buy need long hours to eat and enjoy it. So what's for dinner?

We buy seafood for dinner and noodles too. The most famous seafood is crab. So I decided to order sweet and sour crab. Now 1kg crab cost RM38 already. Also, I bought clams (La La). We love both seafood and need to take longer time to eat. Besides seafood, I bought special mee (using Wan Tan noodle) and fried kuay teow. Both noodles I requested them not to put pork and pork oil (Chu Yao Char). We are more health conscious even though we take outside food. The put chicken as to replace pork.

I forgotten the shop name but it is located in Ipoh town near Kamdar. Also this next to this shop sell delicious BBQ chicken wing and tigh. The popiah taste good too. But the seller open after 7pm. So I can't buy these food unless I go and tai pao late.

Annual Dinner Next Weekend

Busy... busy... busy... What's the hot topic now... It is about company annual dinner. Everyone is very excited about it and this is the hottest topic during our lunch hour. So during lunch most of my colleague will chit-chat about what to wear, hair-do, shoes, bags and blah, blah, blah!

I did not join the dinner last year cos my son was still a baby and he still need breastfeeding from me. He was about 8 months+. But this year I will be joining my other colleagues. So next week we will be going to KL to attend this annual dinner. It falls on Saturday which is 1st Mar 2008. The annual dinner will be held at the ballroom of Mandarin Oriental Hotel (same like last year). We will be staying at the Crown Princess Hotel. Just an over night stay. All are being pay by the company. For those from Sabah and Sarawak, they can take flight to KL which also pay by the company too. Not bad huh!

This annual dinner will include all the staffs from all over Malaysia. Since we have one branch at each state. We will be leaving in the afternoon after half day work on Saturday with other colleagues by rented shuttle bus.

I will miss my lovely 2 kids. Luckily my hubby and my mother are helping me to take care of them. So I can have my chance to attend it. I will be coming home on Sunday by myself in the morning. One of my KL friend will be sending me to Pudu Raya to take a bus home. I did not join my other colleagues coming back to Ipoh cos it will be late. They will start journey back to Ipoh after 3pm. I want to meet my hubby in Ipoh in the afternoon on Sunday before he go back to Penang in the late evening. Not to mention that I will miss Rachel and Wilson too ;-)

Sales - J Card Member's Day

This year Jusco (J card member's day) is a bit different from previous years. They are saving cost and not posting any letter with Jusco voucher to each customers. So maybe at the beginning not many people know about it. The member's day sales start from 22nd Feb until 2nd Mar 2008.

Actually it was informed to me from one of my colleague who station in Jusco. So this time instead of selecting one day using the voucher you can actually shop any day you like with unlimited times and day. Not a bad idea to increase sales. This will give those shopaholic people to shop for more and more!

So I have started my shopping on Friday night itself after hubby came home and had his dinner. We start to go shopping on the first day. Surprisingly not many people at Jusco. We went to the supermarket only. Since the sales are for more than a week so we can still shop anytime of the day. Hooray... such a good news!

Chap Goh Mei

Today is Chap Goh Mei which is the 15th day of Chinese New Year. So fast time flies today is also the last day of Chinese New Year. It is also a Valentine's day for Chinese people who is still single.

The young unmarried lady will throw oranges into the river while the young man will collect the oranges. They will make wishes before throwing the oranges into the river. Of course they will write the name, address or maybe handphone number so that they can contact each other later of the day. They also hope and wish to find their future husband. This is the story tale from elder people.

But for nowadays, I'm not sure that there are many Chinese people practise this traditional method or not. Maybe it is just another method to dispose the extra oranges. Hahaha!

Happy Chap Goh Mei to everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day

Tomorrow which is Thursday is a lovely day where all couples, lovers, husbands & wives will celebrate a special day. It is Valentine's Day.

This year I have to celebrate this special day alone since my hubby work outstation now. What to do... have to earn more money cos have more commitments already! Not like last time during our dating time where other people will say drink water also never mind. But we always plan things wisely so a little sacrifice for today will give us and most of all our kids a brighter future next time in all aspects.

But the good news that hubby give me that he is taking annual leave on Friday which means he will be coming home after work on Valentine's Day. Not too bad huh at least we can be together at night. Late at night also never mind as long as the kids go to sleep. Hahaha... must sensor some info just in case other people know our plan!

We have dinner on Friday night that is why hubby is taking leave. Also the big day celebration for me which is on this Saturday. Oh no... I'm one year older already... it is my birthday... Both my kids especially Rachel started to learn singing the birthday song since few weeks ago. Let me think a list of wishes to make on this coming Saturday.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone especially to my dear hubby!

Do Homework

Rachel is still in Chinese New Year holiday mood. But the school teacher has given her school homework. My dad just came home and she wants to do homework in front of him. Wow... she is so clever and want to show her grandpa that she can do school homework by herself.

At first I wanted to hold her hand but she told me, "Mummy no need" cos she know how to join the doted lines and do by herself. She has to write one page of number "1". She also read to her grandpa the picture show "One mousedeer".

Back To School

Today is Tuesday which is 1st day of school after long holidays from Chinese New Year. I visited Rachel at the school but forget to bring along extra money for the February fees. So tonight I received a note from her class teacher. I took some photos for her with her classmates. She also invited her friends to eat some cookies make by my aunt which she called her 7 ku po.

Her friends can recognised me. They do greet me "Gong Xi Fa Cai... Hung Pow Na Lai!" They are many students so I cannot afford to give each one an Ang Pow. So I just shake their hands. Then, I invited them to take photos together. They are so happy and it was just like photos session in the classroom. The teacher saw me but she just let those students enjoy taking photos together with me.

Let's Go Get Ang Pow

Both my kids dress up nicely to visit relatives houses to received Ang Pow (Red Packets with money). Rachel can greet "Gong Xi Fa Cai... Hung Pow Na Lai!"

Lovely Kids Couple on Stage

This pic was taken 2 days before CNY. We went to Jusco in the morning cos Rachel has to go to kindergarten school in the afternoon. On that day, the daycare centre was closed. So we have to send her to school by ourselves. They were on stage to take this photo and my mother help them to post like a pair of kids couple.

More Pics on CNY

Wear new clothes on the eve of Chinese New Year. We went to BIL house where my MIL staying to have reunion dinner and gathering. At the same night we will exchange goodies and give ang pow to children. This is for my hubby family site to do everything on the eve of Chinese New Year after reunion dinner.

My Kids On Stage

After the lion dance have finished both my kids go on stage. They wanted to take photos. At the same time they wanted to run here and there on the stage. As for my girl Rachel is posting cos wearing new dress. What about my boy Wilson? He is very busy runnning here and there cos scared his jie jie ask him to post together with her. Finally we are able to take a photo of both of them holding hands cat walk in front of us.

Lion Dance

We went to Jusco to have dinner on the 1st day of CNY. Since most of the restaurants are closed we decide to go for fast food. But my brother has taken McD for lunch so we decided to go to Black Canyon since they serverd family set meal. We oder family meal set B since we have 4 adults. The green curry picture in the menu is very tempting. So I order one bowl of green curry to try. It reminds me that my aunt had cooked to me before when I was at her house in London. That was the first time I try green curry. It taste good but not spicy.

Then, we saw lion dance at the central stage of Kinta City. Wow, both my kids love to see lion dance. Rachel like them the most. Wilson feel a bit scared and need us to hug him tight. Both of them enjoy themselves.

Special Cookies

This year I didn't bake any cookies or even cakes during Chinese New Year. Since I 'm working full time now, I don't have enough time to do it. So I have to buy them from shops. I came across this shop which is very near to my office which is very famaous selling cookies. The name of this shop is Ching Han Guan Biscuit Manufacturer which sell quality and freshly bake cookies daily at Hugh Low Street (old name) or Jalan Sultan Iskandar Shah.
At first I try each flavour at a time. Also they will give samples to me to try before buying. The small puff contains the spicy ingredients which my mum like it. I think I like the pineapple tart. The shape of if is different from other people home bake. The one inside the container is crispy shredded yam sprinkle with sesame. Not easy to find these special cookies during Chinese New Year.
Also, the big round shape cookies are their No.1 and most special one with the name "Yuk Si Lin Yung". I feel funny after hearing it. How can "Yuk Si" which is "Pork Floss" mix with "Lin Yung" which is a sweet paste make from "Lin Chi nuts"? Hahaha... that is the most surprise part! The content inside the pastry is their specialty. They put the "Yuk Si" on top of the "Lin Yung paste" and make it into round shape. The taste... is very good. For so many years we stay in Ipoh and we can't find or didn't know such a special pastry. Since I have friends from Penang and KL, so I take the opportunity to buy them a packet to try since it is near Chinese New Year. They love it so much! This shop is selling their No.1 cookies through out the year.

Hair Accessories

Tonight we decided to go to Tesco Xtra. There is one shop outlet selling hair accessories with "Sale" which has 50% discount for all items. Since I have not buy hair accessories yet, so we decide to choose some for Rachel. She can wear it during Chinese New Year and also going to school. I have choose and bought so many and I didn't count until I pay money. After discount all in the pic above cost me RM12.50. I will not buy that much if there is no discount. So it is a good buy at this shop!
